IIM Udaipur

IIM Udaipur (Area – 300 Acres) – The Largest IIM Campus In India

Established in 2011, IIM Udaipur is one of the top management institutes in India. It’s campus is spread across 300 acres which is largest among all IIMs. In 11th five year plan Government of India setup several IIMs in which IIM Udaipur was one of them. From 2018, IIM Udaipur started offering MBA Degrees. It was the second IIM institute in India to do so after IIM Bangalore.

IIM Sambalpur

IIM Sambalpur (Area – 237 Acres)

The 2nd largest IIM campus in India is of IIM Sambalpur. It was established in 2015 and its campus is spread across 237 acres in Odisha. Earlier IIM Indore used to mentor the institute but soon it got its independent director. The permanent campus of this institute is under construction. At present it functions within the Sambalpur University campus.

IIM Lucknow

IIM Lucknow (Area – 200 Acres)

Established way back in 1984, IIM Lucknow is the 4th IIM setup by the Government of India. It’s campus is spread across 200 acres on the outskirts of Lucknow city. In Noida, IIM Lucknow has its 2nd campus in 20 acres. It has around 1,153 students and close to 100 staffs. IIM Jammu, IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur are mentored by IIM Lucknow in the past.

The 10th IIM institute established by the Government of India is IIM Raipur. It is located in Chhattisgarh and was established in 2010. Its campus has a world class sports complex.

IIM Rohtak

Located in Haryana, the IIM Rohtak was among the several IIMs setup under the 11th five year plan. It was established in 2010. Its foundation was laid in 2009. For first three years the IIM Rohtak was mentored by IIM Lucknow.

IIM Kashipur

Established in 2011, the IIM Kashipur is located in Uttarakhand. Like above four institutes the IIM Kashipur campus is spread across 200 acres. It is just 25 km away from Jim Corbett National Park.

IIM Indore

IIM Indore (Area – 193 Acres)

The 6th IIM Institute in India is the IIM Indore. It was established in 1996. In 2003, IIM Indore got its first permanent campus in Madhya Pradesh. The foundation stone of permanent campus was laid by RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani himself. IIM Indore is the first among all IIMs to start operation outside India. Its campus in Madhya Pradesh is spread across 193 acres.

IIM Tiruchirapalli

IIM Tiruchirapalli (Area – 175 Acres)

Located in Tamil Nadu, IIM Tiruchirapalli is the 5th largest IIM campus in India. The institute was established in 2011. Government of India spent close to ₹600 crores in building state of the art campus for IIM Tiruchirapalli. This institute is just 11 km away from Tiruchirapalli International Airport. Among all the largest IIM campuses in India the IIM Tiruchirapalli is the most modern one.

IIM Calcutta & IIM Nagpur ( Area – 135 Acres)

Both IIM Calcutta and IIM Nagpur campus has an area of 135 acres. IIM Calcutta was established in 1961 while IIM Nagpur came up in 2015. The foundation of IIM Calcutta was laid by Morariji Desai himself. In 1975, IIM Calcutta was shifted to its new campus in Joka. IIM Nagpur in Maharashtra is one of the best IIM institute in the state. One of the India’s highest paid IT CEO CP Gurnani is the chairperson of IIM Nagpur.

IIM Bodh Gaya

IIM Bodh Gaya (Area – 119 Acres)

The 16th IIM established by Government of India is the IIM Bodh Gaya. It is spread across 119 acres. At present IIM Bodh Gaya is mentored by IIM Calcutta. Uday Kotak (Chairperson of Kotak Mahindra Bank), Falguni Nayar (CEO of Nykaa) sits on the board of governors of IIM Bodh Gaya. This institute in Bihar has 650+ students.

IIM Kozhikode

IIM Kozhikode (Area – 113 Acres)

The 5th IIM established in India is IIM Kozhikode. It was established in 1996 and spread across 113 acres. The campus has 17 hostels in which around 900 students live. APJ Abdul Kalam himself inaugurated the campus of IIM Kozhikode in 2003.

First batch of 42 students commenced in 1997 started at NIT Calicut campus. It was in 2003 when IIM Kozhikode got its permanent campus. Among all the largest IIM campuses in India the IIM Kozhikode is the most greenest one.

IIM Ahmedabad

IIM Ahmedabad (Area – 102 Acres)

Located in Gujarat, the IIM Ahmedabad was established in 1961. Father of Indian space programme Vikram Sarabhai was one of the founding members of IIM Ahmedabad. Right from 2017 to 2021, IIM Ahmedabad ranked first among all business management institutes in India. Film 2-States was shot in IIM Ahmedabad.

IIM Bangalore

IIM Bangalore (Area – 100 Acres)

One of the most popular IIM is the IIM Bangalore. Its campus is regarded as one of the best and spread across 100 acres. After IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad it was the 3rd IIM established in 1973 by the Government of India. The Government of Karanataka offered land for free to setup the IIM Bangalore and also contributed ₹30 lakh to it.
