Which is the 2nd busiest airport in India? It is the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. This airport is spread across 1,850 acres and handles 950+ aircrafts on daily basis. More than 40 million passengers travel through this airport annually.

A consortium of three companies namely Bidvest, GVK Industries and Airports Company South Africa used to manage this airport. They formed a joint venture named Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) with 74% ownership. Rest 26% was owned by Airports Authority Of India (AAI). After the joint venture the airport saw some big changes both in capacity and design.
